She completed her BA.LLB from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, Delhi University, where she acquired a solid understanding of legal principles and refined her skills in advocacy. Additionally, she obtained a Bachelor's degree in History from Miranda House, Delhi University.
Professional Experience:
With more than 15 years of experience, Joylashmi has established herself as a prominent figure in the legal field, particularly in the media, sports, and entertainment industries. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele, including global cricket boards, artists, musicians, athletes, production companies, and sports organizations. Notable organizations she has been associated with include the European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC), IOS Sports and Entertainment, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and Nestle India Limited.
At Nestle India, she served as an IP Specialist, playing a crucial role in protecting the organization's Intellectual Property (IP) rights. Her responsibilities included overseeing the filing of trademark applications, handling opposition matters, drafting and executing copyright assignments, and managing global licensing agreements. She worked closely with Brand Groups, providing valuable assistance in meeting their specific IP requirements. Additionally, she collaborated with Nestle counterparts worldwide to ensure consistency in policies and guidelines across different regions.
During her tenure at FICCI, was an integral member of the esteemed Meditation Advisory Centre, a pilot project initiated by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India to settle consumer disputes through the Alternate Disputes Redressal Mechanism (ADR) and contributed to looking into the legal aspects of policy making at FICCI.
At IOS Sports and Entertainment, she played a pivotal role in projects relating to celebrity endorsements, talent representation, event management, and finalizing agreements with renowned sports federations including the Indian Olympic Association.
At EBTC, Joylashmi was leading the legal department and was a part of a project advisory to promote the Europe - India business corridor by way of smart collaboration with a specific focus on sustainability, innovation, green technology, and internationalization.

As the General Counsel at ITW Group, Joylashmi Das has a crucial role in protecting the overall interest of the Company and has a foolproof legal framework in place to meet the said objective.
ITW today has arguably the most efficient and diverse legal team in the sector and that's been built by her piece by piece over the last 5.5 years. She has utilized the expertise attained to approach every project with a complete understanding of the company's commercial objectives while keeping in mind the necessary due diligence needed to ensure that not only does the project deliver value to all stakeholders but also protects ITW’s business interests.
Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to providing strategic advice to the management, overseeing the overall legal functions of the ITW Group companies, identifying risks, and working on de-risking strategies/approaches/course of action to protect the interest of the Company including group companies, ensuring due diligence and compliance, handling key commercial contracts and negotiations, broadly to meet legal requirements, managing global strategic partnerships (mostly with rights holders such as cricket boards of countries, the International Cricket Council (ICC), broadcasters etc), Ensure compliance with industry regulations and legal requirements and drive the team’s performance as well as deal with complex and significant matters of the Company.
The landmark partnerships in the field of sports, media, and entertainment such as:
- MPL Sports association with the BCCI as the Official Kit and Merchandise Partner
- Killer Jeans association with the BCCI as the Official Partner
- CRED, Unacademy, Swiggy, and Herbalife in concluding their partnership with the IPL/BCCI as the IPL Official Partners
- Rights acquisition from different cricket boards such as International Cricket Council, BCCI, Asian Cricket Council, Sri Lanka Cricket, Cricket Australia, England and Wales Cricket Board, Bangladesh Cricket Board, Cricket West Indies, Cricket South Africa, Afghanistan Cricket Board, Cricket Ireland, Netherlands Cricket Board, Zimbabwe Cricket Board and several state cricket associations etc
